West Hollywood is close to picking designs for its anticipated AIDS Memorial, to be located in the center of gay Los Angeles.
A committee formed to help steer the memorial — honoring those lost to the disease — endorsed the designs of Australian Daniel Tobin (seen above). The City Council, though, could still go with Los Angeles artist Susan Narduli (pictured below); some committee members thought Tobin's design was too similar to the Holocaust memorial in Berlin.
The AIDS Memorial will be the centerpiece of the newly-renovated West Hollywood park, which is just steps from the bars, clubs, and restaurants of "Boystown." Read more here.
