Instigated by nothing more than an idyllic weekend forecast and a mild case of cabin fever, their spontaneous road trip up the PCH (known to visitors as the Pacific Coast Highway) was well underway. An effortlessly thrown together overnight bag had been packed with three casual days beach-hopping in mind: nautical navy and white (often in stripes), with a dash of Americana red thrown in for good measure.
