“LGBTQ+ Travel Safety Index” from Asher & Lyric evaluates the places around the world that are the most dangerous (and safest) for queer travelers. The couple behind the travel site compiles hundreds of hours of research to review 203 countries’ individual laws. Overall, they found improving legal positioning for LGBTQ+ people from Switzerland (and Cuba) legalizing same-sex marriage to Antigua, Barbados, Saint Kitts and Nevis decriminalizing homosexuality..
But it wasn't all good news as the US. fell in rankings for the second straight year because of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation pushed by the right wing around the country. The nation is now the 25th safest country in the world for queer travelers.
