Besides booking big acts like Jennifer Hudson, Mary Lambert, Betty Who, and controversial rapper Azealia Banks, the organizers of L.A. Pride are pulling out more big stops: an outdoor roller rink and disco.
The outdoor rink, called Thunder Ground, will be outfitted with DJs and accompanied by unspecified "entertainment." Access for the rink will only be available to VIP ticket holders during the June 6-8 event in West Hollywood. VIP tickets also include a handful of free cocktails, gratis grub, upgraded bathrooms, and closer access to the main stage.
Thunder Dome was conceived by Luke Nero and Andres Rigal, with the latter describing it as such: "Luke and I aim to pick up the torch and pay homage to the nightclub roller rinks and infamous daytime Playboy Mansion Roller Skating parties of the late 70s and early 80s."
Organizers also announced the plaintiffs and attorneys in the successful Prop. 8 Supreme Court case will serve as Community Grand Marshals. Click here for more info.
