Experience Palm Springs in a Completely New Way

Rowan

The latest "A\N/A Brand Closet Showroom Social" brings the best artists and designers directly to visitors of the legendary gay getaway.

Sitting by a crystalline pool or relaxing at an immaculate hotel bar in Palm Springs is always a pleasure. But a new immersive experience at one of the California city's most glamorous hotels will enhance the world-famous desert vibe even further.

The Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel in downtown P.S. will play host to "Palm Springs Escape" from March 31-April 4. New York-based consumer experience design and marketing agency A Non Agency® (that's truly it's cheeky name) conceived and produces the experience, describing it as "an immersive hospitality/retail platform ... Guided by a team of personal concierges, hotel guests and other ticketed guests will be able to relax, discover and shop a new curated immersive experience which will include wine and spirits, culinary tastings, global designers, bespoke artisans, community influencers, and a variety of classes on sustainability, health and wellness, stargazing and community empowerment."

"Palm Springs Escape" is A Non Agency's second "Brand Closet Showroom Social," following a successful spring event at the Kimpton Angler's Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida. The socials offer travelers a different way to experience the property and city around them, bringing designers, artists, craftspeople, and wellness experts to the visitors, rather than making them hunt around for such individuals in an unfamiliar place. Concierges with "Palm Springs Escape" will introduce hotel guests and event ticket holders to creators and retailers that align with their sensibilities.

"We've transformed a hotel into a destination experience which amplifies this award-winning, stunning hotel into a unique showroom and social space where guests, guided by our team of concierges, can relax and discover artistry, enjoy personal shopping, and support local community organizations, while enjoying all the amenities this exceptional hotel has to offer. The Kimpton Rowan's luxury setting will be transformed into a social gathering for discovery,” Michelle M. Collins, CEO & Founder of A Non-Agency®, said in a statement.

Part of that transformation will be bringing artists' work to enliven the space. Chicago-based queer artist Sam Kirk featured her limited edition skateboards in the Miami showroom social and is on deck to debut her newest destination inspired artwork in Palm Springs. Kirk's murals of intersectional individuals have brightened the sides of many buildings around the world and her work will soon enliven the already impressive lobby of The Rowan. Hotel guests will be able to view Kirk's artistry, meet the artist herself, and purchase some of her work.

Fashion designers and other artisans will take advantage of the "escape," with parts of the hotel transformed into showrooms that highlight their work. The cabana area around the Rowan's legendary rooftop pool will be converted into a wellness space, where elixirs and health treatments will be offered. Classes on sustainability, stargazing, sound baths, and breathe core exercises will be available, with wine offered for lubrication. Meanwhile, another queer talent, drag queen Bella Da Ball, will entertain guests at a social hour. Also, thirsty patrons won't want to miss the tequila and bourbon tastings.

Collins, who hopes to bring the showroom socials to cities around the globe, further describes "Palm Springs Escape" as "bringing the community and the designers from the community" together; an event that "opens guests up to other local stores and activities, and activates the community and gives the guests a reason to stay longer."
