The 15th Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which wrapped on Sunday, is gaining a reputation as a money-soaked, hipster paradise, where partying and being seen is paramount and the music is an after-thought. The reality is not entirely far-off — the event is a very expensive endeavor, especially for the Millenials that constitute the majority of the attendees, and the creature comforts like VIP tickets and chef-created meals are only within reach of trust-fund babies, techie millionaires, and movie stars (many of which don't pay a cent to go to Coachella). But there is no doubt that music is still a big draw at this LGBT-friendly event, with the crowd's rapturous delight for artists like Lorde, MGMT, Arcade Fire, Pharrell, and Solange Knowles. The latter artist had a calvalcade of gay fans at her show, no doubt encouraged by the appearance of Solange's famous sister during the first weekend of Coachella 2014.
