This LGBTQ+ retirement community aims to be the height of luxury.
Living Out, an upscale LGBTQ+ retirement community in Palm Springs, is set to open in spring of 2023.
On November 15, a beam-signing ceremony marked a major milestone – the placement of the community’s final structural beam. The ceremony also announced the name of the on-premises restaurant: Alice B.
Led by world-renowned chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, the restaurant will serve fresh, Southern California cuisine.
The name is inspired by legendary California-born author Alice B. Toklas, who wrote a memoir-disguised-as-cookbook chronicling her life with partner Gertrude Stein.
“We are incredibly excited to open our new restaurant, Alice B., and bring our cuisine to Palm Springs,” said Feniger. “It’s been an absolute dream of mine to open a restaurant with fantastic food, full bar, and live music so we were thrilled to be the culinary team behind Living Out’s full-service restaurant and piano bar.”
Living Out’s wings, or “neighborhoods,” will be named after legendary LGBTQ+ activists: Del Martin, Phyllis Lyon, Carl Bean, and Connie Norman.
The community will also have a state-of-the-art fitness center, private hair and nail salon, movie theater, game room, art studio, pool and spa, and dog park.
