After a nonstop flight from San Francisco to Copenhagen on Scandinavian Airlines, Michael and Mark, the winners of a trip to Denmark, embark on their European adventure. In this first episode chronicling their trip, the happy couple begins to explore the sights, sounds, and flavors of Denmark’s capital city. This video, featured below, follows Michael and Mark as they walk hand-in-hand down the Nyhavn, a 17th century canal, enjoy cuisine and conversation at cafés and restaurants, go shopping for distinctive hats, and discover iconic landmarks like Frederik’s Church, the Tivoli Gardens, and the Gefion Fountain.
“Some cities may be a little fast, and some cities may be a little bit too slow and quiet, but this seems to have a nice mixture and balance between the two,” Michael says, as bicyclists pedal by and families stroll along the waterfront. “It’s a rhythm of living.”
Michael and Mark were the winners of a contest that asked gay couples to create a video about their union. Their charming submission won them a trip to Copenhagen, where they will help commemorate the 25th anniversary of the world's first legal same-sex unions by having their own wedding. Stay tuned for three more videos that will be unveiled, which document their Danish adventure.
