Exclusive: Pre-Game for Asbury Park's Ascension Party with DJ Dan Slater's Playlist

This weekend, thousands of men will flock to Asbury Park for the 12th annual Ascension Party. The three-day event features 14 different DJs at 11 different parties. Since its first celebration in 2006, the even has been hosted in Fire Island and Mykonos, but now it moves to the coastal New Jersey city.

“We are thrilled to bring Ascension back to the states this year,” says Eric von Kuersteiner. “We brought on a new partner for the weekend who brought a lot of fresh ideas including the idea to take the party to the beautiful beaches on the Jersey Shore.” 

All proceeds from the annual event go to the LGBTQ community. In previous years, it's raised over $1 million for over 40 different organizations. This year, the LGBTQ community Asbury Park will be the main beneficiary.

The weekend kicks off with a Friday night VIP cocktail party, featuring DJ Lina Bradford. The celebration continues with an underwear party, a beach party and a pool party, just to name a few. Guests will dance the night away to sets from DJs Eddie Martinez, Dani Toro, Hansel and Paulo.

We caught up with DJ Dan Slater as he prepares to spin for the Ascension Pool Party. He gives us a glimpse at his set with a perfect pre-gaming playlist.
