This travel site puts some mystery in traveling.
Although some might deem the services provided by a travel agency to be a dying luxury, various new start-ups are getting creative with their business. One agency seeks to put some mystery into your vacation. Pack Up + Go not only does all the planning for you, but they don't tell you where you're going until the day you leave.
According to the website, this is how it works:
Step 1: Answer a few quick questions (budget, dates, travel preferences, etc.)
Step 2: They work with your budget to book the right vacation.
Step 3: The week before your trip, you'll recieve an email that tells you the weather forecast, suggested items to pack, and where you need to be for your departure.
Step 4: You'll recieve an envelope in the mail that has everything you need to know, from accomodations to a city guide. But don't open it just yet!
Step 5: Go to the location it says in your email, and open your envelope.
"You put a lot of trust into the planners and they come through absolutely shining," says one testimony on the site. "For someone who loves to travel but thinks that they have seen it all, this is a fun and unique adventure. We especially enjoyed trying the recommendations that we may not have otherwise gravitated to, had we planned the trip ourselves. From the moment you open that envelope, this experience invites a wonderful, throw-your-hands-up spirit of come-what-may adventure. There is no better way to travel (or live)!"
For a generation so obsessed with predictability and planning down to the minute, spontaneaty is just what we need. What's an adventure without a little mystery?
