Director Rob Stewart using Earth Day, April 22, to jumpstart a global conservation fundraising effort with the theatrical release of his eco-documentary, titled Revolution. A followup to his global hit Sharkwater — which ignited a global movement to protect sharks, changing government policy, and spawning multiple shark conservation groups — Revolution is Stewart's firsthand look at our oceans, and it took him over four years to complete. While visiting 15 countries — from the coral reefs in Papua New Guinea to the rainforests in Madagascar — he captured gorgeous cinematography that includes never-before-seen marine life and endangered wildlife in remote areas.
The film is executive produced by Gus Van Sant, and 50% of the proceeds from Revolution’s release beginning April 22, will benefit conservation charities. Select screenings on Earth Day will offer free admission to kids.
