After WWII the world seemed to open up. Sophisticated people travelled and expanded their world view. Travel posters of the mid-century reflected that glamour. Before rock and poll posters, intellectual students of the '40s and '50s had tarvel posters on their dorm room walls. They could often be seen in the dark beatnik coffee houses of New York and San Francisco.
