Fletcher is Coming to a Lesbian Bar Near You

Fletcher Raises Funds for Women-Owned Queer Bars With National Tour

You can catch the last stop just before NYC Pride — and help her raise money for queers.

Fletcher, one of music’s rising queer pop stars and singer of the sapphic bop “Girls Like Girls”, wants you to Meet Her At The Bar!

In a mini-tour around the country, Fletcher is partnering with Lyft to appear and perform at four culturally significant, women-owned queer bars. The four-stop tour was inspired by The Lesbian Bar Project’s efforts to “support the country’s few remaining lesbian bars — with a goal of preserving safe spaces for queer communities throughout the U.S.” Pearl Bar in Houston, TX was stop number one, followed by As You Are in Washington D.C. and Gossip Grill in San Diego, CA.

Next up, NYC Pride 2022!

“Being on tour again for the last few months and seeing so many Queer people at my shows, dancing, laughing, crying and freely being themselves, has reminded me of the importance of safe spaces,” Fletcher said in a statement. “I recently became aware of the incredible work the Lesbian Bar Project has been doing for the past few years in order to help protect these spaces which for decades have served as sanctuaries and safe havens for the Queer community.  Their research has shown that in 1980 there were approximately 200 lesbian bars in operation and today there are less than 25. This has inspired me to make a few trips of my own across the country to help uplift and support women-owned Queer spaces in any way I can to ultimately create more of a conversation around the importance of keeping these spaces open for us all, now more than ever.”

Merch proceeds, bar sales, and onsite activations will go toward supporting the bars. Fans can also type in “FORFLETCHER” in Lyft for a specialized experience. On top of the tour, Fletcher is raising funds for GLAAD’s Rapid Response Initiative and Communities of Color Program. Lyft and Capitol Records will also be matching up to $10,000 in donations each.

Her last stop will be at Henrietta Hudson on June 24th just in time for New York City Pride. You can find more info and tickets here.
