Brooke Lynn Hytes competed on the eleventh season of Drag Race. She was the first Canadian to compete in the series, placing runner-up to winner Yvie Oddly. Since the show, she has been a main judge on the spin-off series, Canada’s Drag Race, making her the first contestant to become a full-time judge in the franchise.
While the evenings are sure to be unforgettable nights of entertainment, talent, and pure joy, Prasaguet says there’s a lot more to the performances.

South Beach is all abuzz with excitement over your upcoming shows!
Brooke Lynn Hytes: I am, too. It will be my first time at Palace. I love watching those girls turn it out on my Instagram feed! I’m so excited to see them perform in person.
The Palace queens are known for their jaw-dropping performances.
BLH: (Laughing) I hope I can keep up with them!

What is your favorite number to perform?
BLH: Ugh. The hardest question. Right now, I am loving performing my Devil Wears Prada mix. It’s fun to put a little humor into my performances.
Why is it important for high-profile queens like yourself to perform in Florida?
BLH: The haters need to know that drag isn’t going anywhere. We gotta just keep showing up!

Do you have any thoughts on DeSantis saying Florida will challenge Title IX transgender protections?
BLH: It’s despicable. All the more reason to make our voices heard and vote in November!
As a Canadian queen, what are the best and worst parts of visiting scorching hot cities like Miami?
BLH: Well, I love to get some sun for sure, but sweat is a drag queen’s worst nightmare! However, I lived in Nashville so I’m used to the heat.
