The Setai Miami Beach shakes up the classic Manhattan cocktail
The Drink: The Boulevarder
Where to Find It: Setai Hotel, Miami Beach
The Setai, Miami Beach recently kicked off its 10th anniversary year with a five star rating from Forbes Travel. This comes as no surprise to us, since the hotel is known for its winning combination of Asian hospitality and European-style amenities. It's also a swanky spot to grab a tasty cocktail when visiting South Beach — even if you're not an overnight guest.
We recommend the Boulevarder, the Setai’s raspberry riff on a classic Boulevard Manhattan cocktail concocted by head mixologist Philip Khandehrish. It's a standout on a cocktail menu packed with exceptional libations.
“I was born in Iran but lived in Greece and Miami,” Khandehrish explains when asked of his inspiration and knack for innovative flavors. “My grandfather owned a very successful liquor store in Abadan, Iran in the '40s, during the time the British would travel to the country. Also, my father worked for Air France. With his flight benefits we were able to travel from a young age and experience other cultures’ cuisines. Of course, my mother, who is an amazing cook, also encouraged me to experiment with flavors.”
