Celine Dion postponed her Vegas residency at Caesars Palace to take care of her ailing husband, René Angélil, who's suffering from cancer.
Dion called off the residency, her Asian tour, and all show-business activity indefinitely, according to People. Angélil had a tumor removed from his throat in December and the illness has put stress on the couple, who have three children.
"I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children," Dion said in a statement on her official website. "I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support."
Dion herself is struggling physically: inflamed throat muscles has caused her to cancel shows since July 29.
While Las Vegas adjusts to life without Dion, one question remains: who will and could step up to fill her place at the Colosseum?
