The first LGBTQ+ cruise to Antarctica sails on a luxury expedition ship through Vacaya, departing Argentina in December 2022.

The first all LGBTQ+ cruise to Antarctica that will set sail from the port of Ushuaia, Argentina’s southernmost city, on December 6, 2022. Vacaya's 10-night cruise will be aboard the five-star luxury expedition ship Le Boréal and will be led by a team of Antarctic experts who will guide passenger on the science, history, biology, geography, and geology of the most remote continent on the planet.

Travelers will also spend one night in  Argentina’s vibrant, cosmopolitan, and LGBTQ+ welcoming capital, Buenos Aires, before flying on to Ushuaia to board the cruise.

Argentina is one of the most LGBTQ+ welcoming destinations in Latin America. Same-sex marriage with full adoption rights was legalized in 2010 and a federal Gender Identity Law was passed two years later, establishing some of the world's best transgender rights protections.

For more than a decade, Argentina’s National Tourism Promotion Institute, has collaborated with the Argentine LGBT Chamber of Commerce (CCGLAR) to  position and promote the nation as a top international destination for queer travelers. Those efforts have included training local agencies and tourist businesses throughout Argentina on how making sure their products and services are inclusive and welcoming to out travelers.

Those efforts have paid off and it makes Argentina the perfect destination from which to launch Vacaya’s first Antarctica cruise.
