‘Deadpool’ Deemed Too Inappropriate for Chinese Release

In less than a month the only superhero anyone wants to talk about will be Deadpool. The upcoming Ryan Reynolds film will be the one of choice for people who both worship and detest the genre, because that’s just what Deadpool is.

Unfortunately, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Reynold’s irreverent, crimson-clad potty-mouth won’t make it to the world’s second largest film market, China. The country, which lacks a rating system like the U.S. that gauges the appropriateness of films for certain audiences, uses a pass/fail method when deciding whether or not to play foreign films. So it should come as no surprise that Deadpool, the film that couldn’t be made with anything less than an R-rating, won’t be allowed on the grounds of graphic violence, nudity, and language. See: everything that will make this movie amazing and worth seeing.

Sorry China, but you’ll have to wait for cable. Wait, it’s 2016. You’ll have to wait for a decent pirated copy.
