LGBTQ+ Interchange is Offering a South African Trip of a Lifetime

South Africa

The 14-day trip isn't just for siteseeing, it includes workshops, LGBTQ+ community outreach, and more.

Have you ever wanted to spend Pride in another country while also enriching your professional and networking skills? The LGBTQ+ Interchange is offering just that with their new trip to South Africa this June.

The inaugural 14 day trip goes from June 4-17 2021, and goes across South Africa, with stays in Johannesburg, Magaliesburg, Pilanesberg National Park, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, and East London - Morgan’s Bay.

“This trip is not just sightseeing and not [just] volunteerism,” a statement from the organization reads, “there will be moments of service and there will be a lot of sightseeing. However, the trip is the vehicle to discover things about ourselves in the conversations, journaling, workshops, and the ordinary experiences in our travels.”

Participants will get to visit sites including the Apartheid Museum, The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage site, a safari in Pilanesburg National Park, Table Mountain, the penguins at Simon’s Town, and a trip to wine country.

According to the website, the trip is great for grad students, facilitators, nonprofit executives, and anyone interested in leadership and learning more about intersectionality. On the trip, travelers will attend workshops and meet with local LGBTQ+ leaders and communities.

Or, you can just treat it as a vacation and participate in whichever activities you want and have the time of your life in beautiful South Africa.

Only 14 spots are available, and a $1000 deposit is needed to reserve a spot, so hurry up and join today! The price is $3099, plus airfare and two dinners if you sign up before January 31, $3399 if you sign up between February 2 and March 1, and $3799 after that.
