Sydney Mardi Gras is back!

The historic parade that launched after Australia’s own version of Stonewall has returned to Oxford Street. In June of 1978, New South Wales police attacked members of the LGBTQ+ community celebrating Pride, only this time the community fought back. The following year, up to 3,000 LGBTQ+ folks got out of the bars and into the streets to celebrate Sydney Mardi Gras, and the tradition continues today.
