Aussie Indie Film Downriver Will Reach U.S. Audiences

After receiving rave reviews at Toronto Internation Film Festival, the Aussie film Downriver finally snags a distributor.

Breaking Glass Pictures, which recently distributed Gaby Hoffman's latest film Lyle, has scooped up the U.S. distribution rights for the little-Australian-LGBT-movie-that-could Downriver.

A couple of months ago, Downriver was amongst the lengthy slate of films screened during the Toronto International Film Festival. Matt Fagerholm of RogerEbert.com called the movie a "tense, visceral mystery" while The Hollywood Reporter said it was "visually arresting." For a film about a presumed teenage killer who returns home from prison to uncover the truth over his wrongful imprisonment, we can see why.

While not giving any definite details, Breaking Glass Picture plans to release Downriver next summer in theaters and on VOD.
