The first of Jimmy Buffett’s properties on the west coast, Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs, opened last month and is appropriately positioned in city’s Uptown Design District. As designed by McBride Design, the Palm Springs resort perfectly blends the brand’s tropical islands’ vibe with the midcentury modern aesthetic of the desert oasis. Take a virtual tour and learn more about the property below.
Nestled on 16-acres with panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountains, the pet-friendly resort features 398 rooms (including the two-level, 1,761 square foot Jimmy Buffett Suite), and more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor wedding, meeting, and event space. The location’s 10,000-square-foot St. Somewhere Spa is Palm Spring’s largest hotel spa and has 18 treatment rooms, a hair and makeup salon, spray tanning room, and an extensive spa menu of relaxing massages, facials, and salon services.
The resort offers six Margaritaville-inspired dining options, including the fine dining JWB Grill, where the ingredients are locally sourced and the menu globally influenced reflecting a taste into the island life.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the launch of Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs with the opening of JWB Grill and welcome both locals and guests for laid-back luxury island cuisine in paradise,” Jeff Ouradnik told the press when the destination opened. Ouradnik, director of sales and marketing of Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs, added, “We look forward to sharing this special gathering place…as well as eating and drinking timeless cuisine that brings to mind iconic international coastal destinations."
Davidson Resorts, which manages the new Margaritaville Resort notes that Palm Springs is one of the top LGBTQ+ destinations in the country,” and tells Out Traveler, “As a brand-new resort, Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs looks forward to actively participating in upcoming events such as Palm Springs Pride in November 2021, but we are proud to support the LGBTQIA+ community every month of the year, not just November. This continues our tradition of supporting the local community. This is in full keeping with Davidson Hotel Group’s core values on diversity and inclusion.”
The city’s attractions are easily accessible from the resort, including the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, family-friendly hiking, biking and national park trails, unique artisan shops and galleries, renowned golf clubs, and more.
