It's nearly twice the size of the Statue of Liberty.
The prime minister of India is getting ready to reveal the world’s largest statue. The 600-foot structure, which is around double the size of the Statue of Liberty, is of Sardar Patel and comes at a cost of around $460 million. The nationalist being immortalized in stone helped unify modern-day India after it won independence from Britain—hence the piece of work’s name, The Statue of Unity.
Michael Graves Architecture and Design are currently completing the statue that is expected to bring in tens of thousands of tourists per day.
Those who wish to visit the statue will have to travel to Kevadiya Colony in the vicinity of Narmada Dam along the Narmada River.
Visitors can look forward to seeing the full statue on October 31, Patel’s birthday.
