Come through American Airlines shuttle service
American Airlines, formerly known for its silver-bullet livery, will be serving up the silver bullet to passengers for free on a shuttle-service route between NYC and Chicago. Those who indulge in cocktails will still have to pay, but the airline will be popping bottles of wine and beer at 36,000 feet on this route in order to increase its competitveness with business travelers who are looking to relax in coach class.
Beginning April 4, the airline will provide drinks for passengers on 15 flights between New York City’s La Guardia Airport and Chicago O’Hare.
The airline is trying to entice last-minute business travelers who aren’t necessarily going to be using the company dime on business-class seats. “It is something that is really designed to go and cater to the last-minute business traveler and make it as easy as possible for that person,” Vasu Raja, American’s vice president of network and schedule planning.
Don’t expect to get to loose before your business meeting, they’re only giving one free drink per passenger, but a free perk on a domestic airline is unheard of these days, so enjoy!
