Paducah, Kentucky passed an anti-discrimination ordinance this month!
Just a month before the Cinema Systers Film Festival, the only all-lesbian film festival in the US, will be celebrating more than just queer cinema as the city of Paducah, Kentucky became the first in western Kentucky to pass an anti-discrimination ordinance. The Fairness Ordinance prohibits discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations against LGBT persons.
Travelers should plan their visit to this beautiful area of the state from May 24-26 to coincide to strengthen, enrich, and connect this diverse community of women and provide an outlet for their art. Taking place in the Maiden Alley Cinema, this film festival showcases all genres made by lesbian artists. Of course, it's not all about the movies, enjoy live music and cocktail parties to mix and mingle with some of the movers and shakers of the lesbian art world.
