The gays turned out in fierce force yesterday in Provincetown for Hillary Clinton's star-studded fundraiser, headlined by none other than perfection-in-a-palazzo-pant—Cher.
The event, which raised $1.5 million for Clinton's campaign, was technically all about Hillary, with supporting speeches from queer icon Billie Jean King, openly gay Massachusetts attorney general Maura Healey, and MC Kate Clinton.
But the real star of the show (and every show) was one Miss Cherilyn Sarkisian, whose raw and honest speech proved she should've been Hill's choice for VP—she's basically Joe Biden in a $10,000 wig. Check out some of the best moments from her speech below:
On meeting her first gays:
"They took me to Palm Springs when I was 9 and did my hair."
On the reason for her speech:
"I'm here out of love and out of fear."
"I know there will be other minorities who are going to be totally screwed as well, but I fear for your safety."
On the need to fight:
"What happened to the 70s? We already fought this battle."
"We have to work twice as hard to protect ourselves, and I count myself among you."
On the LGBT community:
"I've had this career for 50 years...my ups and downs, no matter who thought I was cool or not, you never left me."
On Hillary:
"I know, she's not the greatest speaker in the world. But I do know she will work every moment of every day."
"This chick is tougher than Chinese algebra."
On Trump:
"I just think he's a fucking idiot."
"I believe if there was breaking news and he had to go to the podium, we would all just go, 'Fuck.'"
