"We believe that no matter who you are, where you're from, or where you travel, you should be able to belong."
Airbnb has once again proven their support for all of its users with the release of a new ad.
The ad, "Accept," features people from different ages, races, and ethnic backgrounds and asks the question, "Would you deny this person to their face?"
CMO of Airbnb Jonathan Mildenhall talked to Adweek about the ad and a little bit about the inspiration for it.
"There are 24 faces that only represent a sliver of the diversity we have on the platform," says Mildenhall. "The film's power laid in the faces. It's a lot more difficult to deny to someone while looking them in the eyes."
Airbnb has a history of taking a stand against oppression with things like their video calling for "Transkindness" or removing discriminatory hosts.
In fact, it was because of these incidents and others like them that Airbnb now requires all users to sign a nondiscrimination pledge where they "agree to treat everyone in the Airbnb community with respect, and without judgment or bias—regardless of their race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age."
Anyone who chooses not to sign is denied the ability to host.
"We believe that no matter who you are, where you're from, or where you travel, you should be able to belong," the ad reads. Check it out below:
