Queer Horror Night at Newfest This Sunday!

NewFest, New York's LGBT film festival, will showcase three queer horror films this Sunday, October 25.

Halloween is fast approaching (it's already October 23!), which means that you've surely been watching as many horror movies as humanly possible. Personally, I just finished watching Carrie (the 1976 version, obvs) for the umpteenth time. But if you've ever felt like the gays and lesbians aren't fairly represented within the horror genre, look no further than NewFest's Queer Horror Night this Sunday, October 25. They'll be screening Everlasting LoveSisters of the Plague, and You're Killing Me.

Everlasting Love gives us a twist on the usual teacher-student affair gone wrong story. A student spies his teacher cruising at the park, which leads to an intense sexual relationship between the two. When the teacher loses interest, the scorned student takes things into his own hands to exact revenge on his teacher in this erotically charged Spanish thriller.

In Sisters of the Plague, Jo loves taking people on haunted house tours in New Orleans. That's already weird enough, right? But when her father comes to town and decides to move in with Jo and her girlfriend, some real eerie, scary, supernatural shit starts going down. And that's just the beginning.

In case these two choices are a bit intense for you, then look no further than You're Killing Me. George, played by Jeffery Self, is a YouTube personality who loves making videos for the world to see. George starts dating Joe, and Joe tells him that he's a serial killer. Assuming he's joking, George plays along and unknowingly encourages George's psychopathic tendencies. Blending side-splitting laughs and gory deaths, You're Killing Me promises to be a hilarious and queer send up to the modern slasher film.
