Belgium is beyond gay friendly. Same-sex marriage with full rights (including those of adoption) are the law of the land. The gay and lesbian community is mostly completely integrated into society. Heck, Antwerp’s chief of police is gay and his legally wedded to his same-sex partner -- the police’s chief of intelligence -- and that’s barely raised an eye.

Here’s a shot of the principal square which is incredibly popular as a tourist destination, gathering place, lunch for local workers and for some great people watching.
