There were lots of surprises in Lonely Planet's new list of LGBT destinations.
Each year adventurers and wanderers await Lonely Planet's newest edition of its annual Best in Travel series. Lonely Planet highlights the world’s best trends, destinations, journeys, and experiences, and for 2015 they placed Singapore as the top country to visit, Washington, D.C. as the best city, and Tunisia for the best-value destination.
What we care about most though is Lonely Planet’s picks for The Most Gay-friendly Places on the Planet to visit in 2015 (see the list below and on the following pages). What do you think of this list of top destinations for LBGT travelers? It doesn't have San Francisco but it does include Mykonos and Uruguay.
The full Lonely Planet Best in Travel 2015 is fascinating beyond the LGBT travel list; you can find out why Turkey’s Gallipoli Peninsula is so special, the best play to get him to say yes to your proposal, and foodie fests you can't miss.
