The surf retreat kicks off March 25.

With the frigid winter months and the forthcoming inauguration, there’s never been a better time to escape to a tropical island.

March 25 marks the beginning of the third annual Gay Surf Brazil. The weeklong surfing retreat takes place Praia do Rosa in the South Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. Known for it’s beautiful beaches and perfect waves, the bay offers an oasis for the surfer at heart. It’s the perfect destination for a week of Brazilian nightlife, yoga, and “surfari.”

Gay Surf Brazil is held at the helm of Capitão “The Captain” David, a renowned surfing instructor who’s trained 15,000 surfers. Founded in 1995, his surf school is the oldest in Rosa.

In addition to the five-day surf camp, the trip includes a two-night stay in Florianopolis, a popular LGBT destination since the ‘80s.
